Hailing from the far North West Highlands of Scotland, Grousebeater Sound System are a group gaining a strong reputation as a must see act on the festival circuit.
The sound, taking influences from as far and wide as Lau and Leftfield, is a unique blend of cutting edge electronic dance music and traditional Celtic music, with a healthy dose of rocking blues and funk thrown in.
Live, the line up consists of Fiddle, Pipes & Whistles, live Guitar, Bass and DJ, producing a banging sound you can’t help but dance to.
The set builds and flows continuously, giving a GB.S.S. show the feeling of a DJ set, and a pretty unique experience for the audience as far as a live act goes.
Previous gigs of note include several at T IN THE PARK and BELLADRUM, ROCKNESS, THE WIZARD, the bands hometown festival, LOOPALLU and EDEN in Galloway, as well as FOLKWOODS festival in Eindhoven and playing to 12,000 in the Basque Country as part of a cultural exchange with the Highlands.
It is set to be another big year for the ‘Beaters, with more festivals, and plans for releases in the offing, watch this space!
